Barney is an elder of the Alawa Community, he has intimate knowledge of his traditional homelands and it is this Alawa Country that he is most commonly know for painting.
Barney first started out painting using dots before seeing his now used brush strock in a cave in his Alawa country, he now uses this technique which give depth to his paintings and an unique eye catching style.
